Peace House Coordinators

Catherine Mamer (22 years) - Catherine is generally considered our fearless leader and is responsible for the recruiting of several Peace House coordinators. She knew Rose from the early days of Peace House and has been involved ever since. She has taught English and Journalism and done work with the MaryKnoll Sisters in East Africa.

Doris Thimmesh (21 years) - A long time coordinator, Doris brought food on Thursdays for the first 15 years. She has fond memories of the people at Peace House, including "Canny Annie" who gathered cans while in her 80's and gave the proceeds to charity.

Marge Sullivan (20 years) - Marge, at 82 years and 80 pounds, has a tough as nails reputation at Peace House, particularly for an incident where she broke up a sidewalk fight.

Irene Eiden (16 years) - Irene studied theology at Saint Catherine's and discovered Peace House through class. She is currently the Peace House shopper maintaining our supplies.

Ward Brennan (8 years) - Ward is involved with peace and justice activism including Vets for Peace and currently volunteers as an election observer in El Salvador. The buck stops with Catherine and Ward on Peace House policies.

Meg DeLapp (6 years) - Meg, a 12th grade political science and economics teacher, came to Peace House because "When Catherine asks you to do something, you do it!". Catherine's daughter did a journal on Peace House in Meg's class.

Mary Burns (6 years) - Mary was introduced to Peace House through Alice Browne, our former Tuesday song leader, and has traditionally led breathing exercises on this day. Mary is a candidate for Consociate with the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet. She has found giving a person responsibility can help change behavior.

Pete and Carole Fleming (6 years) - Pete left the Priesthood to marry Carole, a nun at his parish. Pete is the brother of notable local priest Martin Fleming.

Jim McKinney (5 years) - Jim has been essential to Peace House volunteering as handyman, keeping the building sound and repairing donated items through a sometimes continuing series of surprises. He was introduced to Peace House through Tom Hooley, the previous handyman.

Curtis Davis (4 years) - Born in Minneapolis and raised in Arkansas, Curtis has been coming to Peace House for 13 years. He currently plays an essential role in keeping Peace House safe and organized, and his insights provide a pragmatic voice to Peace House discussions.

Eileen Shore (4 years) - Eileen was introduced to Peace House through Ward at church. She works as an environmental government lawyer.

Donavan Pederson (3 1/2 years) - Donavan, currently a partner in his own business, Amgeon, has lived in New York, Wash DC, and California through his work with Control Data. He was introduced to Peace House through his wife Carol, who knew Catherine.

Bonnie Monson (3 1/2 years) - Bonnie was introduced to Peace House through Donavan. Born in Minnesota, Bonnie runs her own fulfillment business, has volunteered as a nurse abroad, and enjoys the people she meets at Peace House.

Pat Helin (3 years) - Pat knew Rose while working for Catholic Charities Cure for People. She has taught, likes gardening, and finds every day at Peace House unique.

Anne Mason (3 years) - Anne was introduced to Peace House through Meg in 2004, and began her involvement by helping to create the tile mosaic on the outside west wall of Peace House.

Andrea Hinderaker (3 years) - Andrea, an ordained pastor, started at Peace House doing the funeral of Iceman in 2002. Iceman was a beloved Peace House regular and can be seen performing on the Peace House and Pictures page.

Laurie Garfield (2 1/2 years) - Laurie was introduced to Peace House through Sister Rita Steinhagen and is attracted to the humor and wisdom in the Peace House community.

Tom Garvey (2 years) - Tom, a priest, was introduced to Peace House through Ward. He appreciates the stories he hears at Peace House.

Deb Bauer (1 1/2 years) - Deb discovered Peace House through the Sisters of Saint Joseph web site. Outside of Peace House she has done ministry and healing work. Deb likes how Peace House memorializes and honors any community member that passes regardless of their station in life.
